Bill Gates was actually named William Henry Gates III:

You might know him as Bill Gates but you probably might not know the fact that he was actually named William Henry Gates III. He was born on October 28, 1955, in Seattle, Washington United States.

Proclaimed to be a Millionaire:

Well Gates has always been ambitious. He officially proclaimed that he wanted to be and will be a millionaire at the age of 30 and look he became a billionaire by the age of 31.

Computer Programmer since a teenager:

Gates was fascinated about computer programming since his teenage. You’ll be surprised to know about the fact that he wrote his first computer program as a teenager at Lakeside Prep School on a general Computer.

And he too was a College drop out:

If you look at most of the successful entrepreneurs and innovators you will find one thing common among most of them. Unlike other entrepreneurs Gates too was a college drop out. In the year 1975 Gates left Harvard University to give his full time to Microsoft.

Bill Gates is surely sportive:

Apart from computer programming, innovations and inventions Gates do love sports. He loves playing bridge, golf and tennis.

His initial project was Payroll program:

Well if you think Microsoft is Gates’ first project, then let us spill the beans. Gates and his co-founder Paul Allen worked on their first project for a company called Information Sciences. Even before the Microsoft was established, the technical duo came together to work on their first project to write a payroll program for Information Sciences.

In an interview, he said that, he loves listening to his favorite American rock band – Weezer. He also enjoys listening to u2, frictional rock group and Spinal Tap.

Gates happened to meet Melinda at a dinner:

Even before the two tied the knot, they worked together at Microsoft. Melinda worked at Microsoft as a product Marketing Manager. The two met together for the first time at a dinner.

Moreover, the pair always wanted to keep their relationship a private affair till 1993. Finally, that year they got engaged and the love birds got married in 1994.

Bill Gates perfect ideology on Parenting:

Though Bill Gates’ net worth as of 2019 stands $100 billions, Gates insists that his three children will inherit an amount of $10 million each. In an interview Gates even quoted saying “Leaving kids massive amounts of money is not a favor to them.” That’s surely something every parent must consider looking at him.

Bill Gates is an avid reader:

He is surely an avid reader. He accredits his success to reading and learning from it. In an interview with New York times in the year 2016, he quoted: “Reading is still the main way that I both learn new things and test my understanding.” Though his schedule is tightly packed, he makes sure that he reads 50 books each year. That’s approximately one book per week.

A well-organized man:

A well-organized man can never fail and that’s the mantra of Bill Gates too. He makes sure that his days are planned in advance. His organization skills, scheduling are so apt and are planned so accurately and thoroughly that makes him the most successful technical entrepreneur.

The founder of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation:

Everyone heard about Bill Gates as a Philanthropist. However not many are aware of the fact that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation was founded by both Bill Gates and Melinda Gates in the year 1999. The objective of the foundation is to fund social causes for combating diseases like Malaria, Tuberculosis and AIDS.

Initiated a project for Safe drinking Water:

Both Bill Gates and Melinda Gates worked on a project under the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation to invent a machine for processing and converting sewage water into safe drinkable water. Bill Gates even appeared on the Tonight show in the year 2015 to support his cause. It was seen on the show that Bill Gates along with the host Jimmy Fallon drank a glass of water to show that the water was safe for human beings.

Bill Gates’ only regret:

This technical entrepreneur despite being an expert in various coding languages has still the biggest regret. His only regret is that though he knows many programming languages, he says he failed to learn any other language apart from English, and he quoted that not knowing any other language except English is his biggest regret in life.

The recipient of many honors and accolades:

Are you aware of the fact that Bill Gates is the recipient of many honors and accolades? He is honored as the Knight Commander of the Most Excellent order of the British Empire by the British Empire in the year 2005. Additionally, he has also received the Bower Award of leadership in the year 2010, Padma Bhusan (Third highest Civilian award) from Indian Government in the year 2015, Presidential medal of Freedom from the President of the United States in the year 2016 etc.
